Setting Up the Hardware
•
The
cover
is a durable plastic cover that protects the Recorder
from dust and accidental user interference while operating.
•
The
Controller’s
soft power button
powers on the device.
•
The Recorder should always stay powered on. Do not use the
Recorder’s
soft power button
.
•
The green, yellow, and red
status indicators
are used with the
Dashboard on the Display to indicate the operational status of the
device. For information about how to interpret these indicators,
refer to “Interpreting LED Status Indicators” on page 11-3.
•
When the cover is open, pressing the
Ink Cartridge Load
button
positions the ink cartridge carrier for easy ink cartridge
replacement. When the cover is closed, pressing the
Ink
Cartridge Load
button will open or close the printer tray.
•
The
ink cartridge carrier
holds the color ink cartridge on the
right side and the black ink cartridge on the left side.
•
The
CD/DVD recorders
are automatically loaded and unloaded
by the Recorder’s robotic disc transporter.
•
The
Recorder Tray buttons
manually open or close the Recorder
trays. In normal operation, the in/out movement of the Recorder
trays is controlled automatically and these buttons are not used.
•
The
input bins
hold blank discs for recording. Each bin holds up
to 50 discs.
•
The
output bin
is where discs are placed after they have finished
being recorded. The output bin can hold up to 30 discs.
•
The
robotic disc transporter
moves discs from the input bins,
to a CD/DVD recorder, to the printer, and finally to the output
bin.
•
The device’s configuration data is stored on the SmartDrive,
which must be inserted in the
SmartDrive USB port
located
behind the green funnel on the Controller front panel. The
SmartDrive must be installed for the device to operate.
