The most advanced solution for recording patient studies and reports
onto disc. Codonics Virtua line of Medical Disc Publishers provide the
fastest, easiest way to record and label multiple medical studies and
reports to CD or DVD. Discs are recorded, labelled and ready to leave
with the patient without workflow interruption. This innovative, DICOM-
compliant network device offers several models to address every need
and budget. To keep pace with multi-modality environments or high
volume imaging applications, Virtua XR records up to 60 CDs or 30 DVDs
an hour* while the Virtua ECO line includes a full feature set in an ultra-
compact and economic design.
Virtua features an advanced processor for receiving and managing
studies, a robotic disc recorder and printer, and a user-friendly touch
screen interface. The built-in printer produces brilliant, full-colour disc
labels that include patient demographics and the facility’s address and
logo for marketing. Customers can create their own custom labels or use
Codonics disc label design service.
If you’re not convinced already, below you’ll find 15 reasons why
you should choose Virtua and how you can improve the quality,
speed and efficiency of your medical image recording and
publishing process.
1. Compact Size and Reduced
Complexity
The compact footprint of Virtua means that only a small amount
of counter space is required to place and use the machine. The
integrated design eliminates the need for separate components
such as a PC, monitor, keyboard and mouse.
Virtua neatly incorporates its powerful in-built Intel
®
processor,
Primera
®
disc publishing technology and an optional Elo touch
screen in a compact unmatched single package. Alternative
solutions of similar production capacity occupy approximately
two times as much counter space. The easy-to-use interface
and touch screen display optimises daily workflow activities and
contributes to productivity and effectiveness.
2. Job Profiles Provides For Multi-
User Flexibility
Virtua’s settings can be customised to accommodate a range
of specific preset job profiles. True multi-user flexibility is
provided by this job profile functionality selection which can be
automatically pre-programmed to address media type, labelling
preferences, image viewer, compression options, automatic or
manual publishing, label truncation, disc verification, practice/site
information, study anonymisation, number of copies and many
more. This means Virtua can be configured to service multiple
modality and site needs.
3. HL7 and DICOM Structured
Reports
Virtua provides, as an option, the ability to accept DICOM
structured reports from a large range of validated brokers and
PACS. It also has the ability to act as an HL7 server receiving
reports directly from the RIS.
4. Multi-Modality Connectivity
Virtua can accept up to hundreds of simultaneous storage
associations. This means that it is able to accept a multitude of
files pushed to and pulled from various modalities and PACS.
5. Viewers
A comprehensive range of DICOM viewers are available to
be installed on the Codonics Virtua platform. In fact there are
fourteen Codonics validated viewers which suit general and
specialist applications as well as a range of optional viewers
which seamlessly match with Siemens, Philips, and GE modality
systems. The Virtua also makes it possible to have multiple
viewers on a single disc giving your referrers the option to use a
viewer they are most familiar with.
Specialist viewers include Cardiac CT, Cardiac Ultrasound,
Vascular, SPECT/CT, PET, Screening and Mammography.
Virtua is supplied in standard configuration with a Windows-
compatible Codonics DICOM viewer. MAC users can also breathe
a sigh of relief at last a system has been developed which allows
